After a strong start to the season, Glenn Murray has tipped Heung-min Son to score 20 goals this season.
Heung-min Son opened his account for the campaign last weekend with a stunning hattrick against Burnley. A deft chip in the first half was followed by two clinical finishes in the second to help his side to a 5-2 win at Turf Moor.
The victory maintained Tottenham’s unbeaten start to the league season and continued an impressive run of displays from Ange Postecoglou‘s side.
Fans and pundits alike are lauding the Australian and his team for their free-flowing, expansive, attacking football. And it seems the Spurs players are enjoying the freedom, too.
Son certainly appears to be back to his best, and is relishing the increased responsibilities on his shoulders this season.
Since the departure of Harry Kane, Son has stepped up as club captain and is now leading the line in attack, and doing a fine job of both.
How many goals will Son score this year?
With three goals to his name already this term, there is hope that Son can replicate his returns from the 2021/22 season where he scored 23 league goals (Transfermarkt).
Murray reckons he can do just that, as he told OptusSport: “I fully expect Son to hit 20-25 goals this season without doubt.
“But for me, I look at Spurs and it’s just a breath of fresh air. I think this group, and Ange in particular, is a representation of Tottenham.”
Spurs Web Opinion
That hat-trick should do Sonny the world of good. His confidence will be sky-high now and he looks incredibly happy. The fact he is now the main man, and the captain, appears to have helped him grow in stature and he is flourishing in this new-look Spurs team.
