Former Manchester United player describes Jose Mourinho as a ‘beast’

Former Manchester United player Ander Herrera has been talking about his old manager, Jose Mourinho and described him as a ‘beast’ to certain players.

Herrera was part of Manchester United side with Jose Mourinho at the helm which won the FA Cup and Europa League.

However, Mourinho was sacked by Manchester United in 2018 and the Spanish midfielder left England in the following summer to join PSG on a free transfer.

Mourinho has received plenty of criticism over his handling of players (Daily Star), but Herrera only had good things to say about Portuguese Manager.

In an interview with Spanish media outlet AS (as relayed by Football London), he said: “I’ve only got words of thanks for him. The first season was fantastic, winning three trophies and the fans chose me as the best player of the season.”

“He’s got personality, yes, but if you’re upfront with him, work hard, don’t hide and don’t try and mess him about, you won’t have any problem.

“He’s a beast with people who aren’t honest.”

However, Mourinho and his staff are now said to be delighted with the French midfielder application over recent months. (Football London)

Spurs Web Opinion

I think it’s fair to say that Jose Mourinho is known for causing rifts with players who don’t fit his philosophy. However, I feel this will be positive for Spurs who need a manager to come in and bring in a leader mentality. We have already seen with Tanguy Ndombele who was publicly criticised but now looks a leaner and fitter player ahead of the Premier League restart.
