Former player sends warning to Harry Kane about leaving Spurs for Chelsea

Darren Bent has warned Harry Kane that he would completely ruin his legacy at Tottenham Hotspur if he links up with Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea.

Over the last few months, various publications have named Manchester United as the most realistic destination for Kane this summer if the striker does leave Spurs, with the Red Devils thought to be prioritising a move for the England captain (Daily Star).

However, with Mauricio Pochettino now set to be confirmed as the next Chelsea head coach, there have been some suggestions over the last couple of weeks that the 51-year-old would try to lure Kane to the Blues.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth even told GiveMeSport on 6 May that there is no doubt that the Argentine would want to reunite with the Spurs star at Stamford Bridge, but the journalist added that the North London club do not plan on selling their talisman.

Bent also expects the West London club to do everything in their power to sign Kane but warned the Tottenham man that he will never be welcome back in N17 if he crosses the London divide.

When asked about the centre-forward joining Chelsea, the former Spurs striker told Premier League Productions – 15/05/23 at 2:55 pm: “That decision would come down to Harry Kane.

“I think Chelsea would be prepared wherever they can to get him.

“Then, it’s the whole legacy question. I believe Harry Kane’s legacy at Spurs is set in stone. He is their all-time record goalscorer.

“But once he makes that divide, no matter what he has done, he will never be welcomed back.”

Kane would never consider moving to Chelsea and Levy would shoot down any approach that the Blues make for the striker.

Besides, Chelsea will finish in the bottom half of the table and would certainly not be a tempting destination for the 29-year-old as they are even further away from competing for major honours than Spurs are at the moment.
