Former Spanish international makes confident Mauricio Pochettino prediction

Former Real Madrid midfielder Victor Sanchez has confidently claimed that former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino will end up managing Real Madrid at some point in the future.

No one would have likely foreseen that Pochettino would be out of work for more than a year after parting ways with Spurs in November 2019.

However, the Argentine has been heavily linked with some big jobs over the past couple of months.

The Real Madrid hot seat has been mentioned (OkDiario) while Paris Saint-Germain (ESPN) and Manchester United (MEN) have also reportedly been eyeing the 48-year-old as a replacement for Thomas Tuchel and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer respectively.

However, it looks unlikely that there would be a vacancy at the Santiago Bernabeau any time soon as Real Madrid’s recent upturn in form seems to have relieved some of the pressure Zinedine Zidane was previously under.

However, Sanchez is convinced that Pochettino would eventually manage the Los Blancos since the Argentine has always liked the club.

The former Real Betis and Malaga manager told Marca: “He is in the best moment in his career.

“I think he’ll end up coaching Real Madrid at some point because he’s always liked them a lot.

“He’s earned the respect of other coaches and right now he can coach any team [in the world].”

Spurs Web Opinion

Pochettino has been very patient in the past year as he has continued to wait for the right job but I suspect he will now be a bit anxious to get back to work. This is why I expect him to go to PSG as that looks like the job that is likely to open up first, with Tuchel coming under increasing pressure.
