Former Spur furious with ref as Rose gets booked and Liverpool’s Salah escapes again

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder David Howells took to Twitter to vent his frustration after Danny Rose received a yellow card from referee Craig Pawson, after he was adjudged to have dived late into the Premier League clash against Fulham.

On the 80th minute, Cyrus Christie was late into a tackle with Rose just outside the box. It should have been a booking for the Fulham wing-back but the referee bizarrely saw it differently and books an astonished Rose for diving. Replays showed it was a clear foul on the Spurs player and it should have been a free kick on the edge of the area for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Howells drew comparisons with Liverpool’s Mo Salah who was once again trying his best to dive to win a penalty in their win against Crystal Place at Anfield and did not receive a booking, despite his growing reputation for simulation.

Here’s what he had to say on Twitter.
