Former Spurs boss still confident on Grealish deal

Former Spurs and Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood believes Tottenham will land Jack Grealish before the transfer deadline.

A move for the 22-year-old which has been speculated all summer seemed to fall through yesterday when Villa’s new owners said the youngster was no longer for sale.

However, when speaking to talkSPORT Sherwood believes the deal will still happen:

“I still think it will get done, there’s a will on both sides,” he said.

“Jack obviously wants to go now, he’s got an opportunity to go to a club in the Champions League and I honestly believe it will get done.

“I don’t think it will look good on the new owners of Aston Villa to sell their prize asset, but I think it was too far down the line before they arrived at the club.

“I think they might have to just let everyone get what they want.

“Unfortunately for Villa and their fans, they are a massive club in their own right and they don’t want to lose Jack Grealish who is such a good player for them.”

The 22-year-old was said to be left ‘disappointed’ and ‘disillusioned’ after being denied a move which he was initially ‘promised’.

With just four hours to go, can you see a deal happening Spurs fans?
