Former Spurs figure urges club to go for Premier League-winning manager

Lord Alan Sugar, former Tottenham Hotspur chairman, has now urged his former club to go for current Italy manager, Roberto Mancini this summer.

Mancini and Italy have been impressing on the Euro 2020 stage over the past two weeks, fighting their way into the quarter-finals of the competition.

Spurs, meanwhile, have been without a permanent manager for over 70 days after they sacked Jose Mourinho back in late April.

As the manager search continues, Alan Sugar predicted that Mancini will win the Euros with Italy and should then choose Tottenham as his next challenge.

With the one-year delay to Euro 2020 thanks to COVID-19, the next World Cup is only one-year away, meaning it could be hard to prise managers away from heavy-hitting countries.

Sugar said:Roberto Mancini after winning the Euros with Italy. Should come to Spurs as his next challenge.’

Spurs Web Opinion:

Even if Italy got knocked out in the next round, I would expect Mancini to stay on for the World Cup. But if the Italians went as far as to win Euro 2020, I can’t see any world in which he would give up the chance to fight for a World Cup, especially to come to Spurs.
