Former Spurs man claims two current players ‘aren’t doing enough’

Former Tottenham midfielder, Jamie O’Hara has claimed that Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura are simply not doing enough to get into the side at the moment.

Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have shouldered almost all of the goal-scoring burden for the Lilywhites so far this season.

With the pair not quite hitting their usual heights over the last couple of weeks, Jose Mourinho’s men have struggled to create and put chances away.

Their backline, which seemed impenetrable two weeks ago, has started leaking goals again, with their inability to effectively defend set-pieces costing the side plenty of points.

Tottenham, who were sitting at the top of the Premier League table in mid-December, dropped to fifth at the weekend after picking up just two points from their last four games.

O’Hara believes that it is now time for the likes of Bergwijn and Moura to step up and prove their quality.

He told talkSPORT on Monday, 8.40 am (as relayed by TBR Football): “Son is the only player who makes runs.

“They lack pace without Bergwijn and Moura, but they aren’t doing enough. They aren’t producing much, I need more from them.

“They’re big players for Spurs, but they aren’t doing enough.”

One of the reasons the likes of Bergwijn have not been as much of an attacking threat as he should be is because of the system we are playing. I think it is clear now that Jose now needs to take the shackles off our attacking players instead of giving them too many defensive responsibilities.
