Former Spurs man reveals the kind of player he thinks the club need to sign

There can be no doubt that the form of Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son has been utterly phenomenal so far this season as the pair look set to break the record for the most goal contributions from a partnership in the Premier League.

However, Jamie O’Hara believes that his former club are in ‘desperate’ need of a creative midfielder. As it stands, Spurs have Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, and Dele Alli as the stand-out options to perform in a number ten role.

The former Spurs man argued that the club lack someone in the mold of Christian Eriksen, Rafael Van Der Vaart, and Luka Modric within the side.

With Lo Celso being hampered by injuries throughout the season and Dele being frozen out of the side, Ndombele has been the one player consistently featuring in that role.

The plea from O’Hara could be answered in the January transfer window as Eriksen has been tipped to make a surprise return back to North London on loan (Football London).

Marcel Sabitzer is also said to be of interest, however, a move is likelier to come in the summer (Fabrizio Romano).

Such a move could pave the way for Dele to reunite with Mauricio Pochettino at PSG. The Englishman has been widely reported to be of interest from the French champions throughout the window (Telefoot via Sport Witness).

Spurs Web Opinion:

If a move becomes available, it would be great to go for a creative midfielder. However, it has to be said that some of the creative issues may be down to a selection point of view. When Spurs are playing a team from the bottom half it would be nice to see Hojbjerg, Ndombele and another creative player come into the side.
