Former Spurs man tipped to join Arsenal

Former Tottenham academy player Steven Caulker has been tipped to sign for Arsenal in the coming weeks, after triggering his release clause from Dundee on deadline day.

The 26-year-old is currently a free agent, and is said to be weighing up his options.

Now a seasoned player at the top level, Caulker has enjoyed stints at Tottenham, Swansea, Cardiff, QPR, Liverpool and Southampton.

The former Spur could now be set to join Arsenal, but he won’t be making an enemy out of any Tottenham fans…

How is that possible? Caulker has been handed an offer from Ukrainian side Arsenal Kiev.

Kiev have apparently offered to make Caulker their highest paid player, but the centre back does have other admirers in the Championship, if he prefers to stay put in England.

The defender has flown home while he makes his decision.

Tottenham themselves are a little short on centre-backs at the moment. If Pochettino decided to play a back three, with Dier in midfield, he would actually have no other senior centre backs to put on the bench.

Young Juan Foyth is still out injured, and Cameron Carter-Vickers was sent out on loan.

Would a move for Caulker be a possibility?
