Former Spurs midfielder aims joke at West Ham after Carabao Cup draw

Jamie O’Hara has taken to Twitter to joke that Tottenham Hotspur have one hand on the trophy after they were drawn against West Ham United in the quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup.

If Spurs are to break their 13-year long trophy drought this season, the Carabao Cup arguably represents their best chance of doing so, alongside the Europa Conference League.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men put in a professional performance at Turf Moor on Wednesday night to seal their progression into the last eight of the competition.

While the reigning champions Manchester City, who Spurs lost to in last year’s final, were eliminated in the previous round at the hands of the Hammers, there are some big clubs still left in the competition including the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea.

Tottenham were handed a fairly difficult draw, with West Ham set to visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during the week commencing December 20th to play for a place in the semi-final.

However, O’Hara did not seem too concerned about being drawn against the Hammers in what looks to have been an effort to rile the opposition fanbase.

Here’s what the former Spurs midfielder tweeted:

Spurs Web Opinion

I am sure Jamie is just bantering West Ham fans and that he does not actually believe that it is an easy draw. However, the fact that we are at home is quite significant. I believe that makes us the favourites to progress.
