Former Spurs midfielder slams Ryan Fraser amidst links to North London move

Former Spurs man, Jamie O’Hara has slammed reported Tottenham target, Ryan Fraser for ‘letting his team and manager down’ by rejecting a short contract extension (TalkSPORT).

Fraser has been linked heavily with a move to Spurs this summer with his contract coming to an end this month (Metro).

Unlike many other players, The Times report that Fraser has turned down a one-month contract extension to see the season out at Bournemouth.

“He’s a good player, but would he be a Premiership player without Eddie Howe and without Bournemouth? They took him in League One,” O’Hara said.

“Because of Eddie Howe, they’ve been able to get in the Premier League because he’s such a fantastic manager. I think he’s let his team and his manager down.”

“It shows the lack of loyalty. It’s not like they (Bournemouth) are mid-table and they’re going to coast through and see the season out. They are in a massive dogfight and they need their best players and he has been one of their best players.”

Fraser has been at Bournemouth since 2013 when he made the move from Scottish side Aberdeen (Trasnfermarkt).

It is believed Fraser is concerned about picking up an injury during the extra month needed to finish the season off, which could cost him the dream move he is hoping for.

It is very easy to see both sides of the argument in this case. It is a tricky position for Fraser to be in, he is hoping for a big move away and an injury of any kind could put that move up in the air. However, he does owe the Cherries and Eddie Howe a lot for his career.
