Jamie O’Hara has claimed that he will not watch another Tottenham game this season if Antonio Conte departs the club.
Conte cast doubt on his Spurs future following Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat to Burnley, admitting he may need to talk to the club about assessing his position in the dugout (Evening Standard).
The defeat at Turf Moor saw Spurs fail to capitalise on their weekend victory at Manchester City which has compounded them to a fourth defeat in five Premier League games.
With Spurs still seven points off the Champions League places, news of uncertainty surrounding Conte’s future has not pleased former midfielder O’Hara, who says he will not watch another match this term if he does leave N17.
O’Hara said on talkSPORT: “If he [Conte] walks, I’m not watching Spurs again this season.
“It’s the best manager we have had, I think, in the Premier League, and he’s going to walk after six months. Look what we’ve done to him.
“This is what Conte has been doing. I’ve seen it in him over the last few weeks in his interviews and the way he has been talking, how he’s been covering his own back.

“He’s seen how he can get a result [against Manchester City]. He’s seen he’s a top-class manager and he’s thinking, ‘What am I doing? I’m wasting my time.’”
Tottenham will look to bounce back from their midweek disappointment when they travel to Leeds this Saturday.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side also enter the fixture in a self-reflecting mood after coming off the back of a 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool.

Conte’s comments are not exactly what you want to hear with Tottenham’s recent form being so poor as the squad needs as much reassurance it can get right now. But this is what you get with him – he is honest and won’t be afraid to tell the board exactly what he is thinking right now.
