Former Spurs scout urges the club to sign 21-year-old Serie A player

Former Tottenham scout Bryan King believes that Udinese right-back Festy Ebosele is exactly the kind of player that the Lilywhites need as cover for Pedro Porro.

Spurs raided Udinese for a full-back not too long ago, with Destiny Udogie proving an outstanding success at the North London side so far.

It has been suggested recently that the Lilywhites have their eye on another young full-back from the Italian side, with HITC stating a couple of days ago that Ange Postecoglou’s men are tracking the performances of Ebosele.

The youngster, who has operated as a convention right-back and as a right wing-back, has progressed impressively since swapping Derby County for the Serie A back in 2022.

HITC alleged that the Lilywhites could face a challenge from Leeds United for the Republic of Ireland international while the likes of Everton, West Ham and Southampton are also keeping a keen eye on the player.

Tottenham are looking at Festy Ebosele

King believes that Tottenham’s Italian connections should give them an advantage in the race of Ebosele and fully endorsed a move for the former Derby youngster.

When asked about Spurs’ rumoured interest in the Udinese man, the North London side’s former scout told Tottenham News: “It could be useful to have some cover on the right because they are pretty strong down the left.

“He sounds like he is the right player to bring in. He is a good age, he has got enough Italian connections at the club with Destiny Udogie and Guglielmo Vicario, so I imagine it would be easy for him to settle in.

“By the sound of his pedigree, he sounds like someone who could stand in for Pedro Porro and give Tottenham more depth in their squad. I think this signing would be a good idea.”

I think Postecoglou might lean towards signing a dynamic young full-back who is comfortable operating at both right-back and left-back so that one player can cover for both Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie.

Ebosele does fit the bill, being homegrown and likely to be relatively inexpensive but I suspect Tottenham will also be quite tempted to consider re-signing Kyle Walker-Peters.
