Former Spurs star urges Spurs to sign 25-year-old after missing out on Mo Salah

Former Tottenham striker Mido has urged the North London club to do what it takes to sign Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt this summer, insisting that the forward would be an excellent fit for Ange Postecoglou’s system.

The versatile Mormoush, who can play across the front three, has had a fabulous campaign at Frankfurt, with 16 goals and six assists to his name across all competitions in 2023-24 (Transfermarkt).

It was Bild who first reported back in February that Spurs and Newcastle United had both expressed an interest in the Egypt international ahead of the summer.

The same publication (BILD via Sport Witness) offered an update on the player’s future a couple of weeks ago, claiming that Frankfurt expect the Lilywhites to make an offer for the 25-year-old.

The report added that the forward dreams of playing in the Premier League and is valued by the Bundesliga club at around €50m-€60m (£42.7m-£51.3m).

Mido tells Spurs to sign Omar Marmoush

Mido has now taken to social media to reveal that his recommendation for Spurs to sign Mohamed Salah fell on deaf ears in the past and urged Daniel Levy and co not to repeat the same mistake by passing up on Marmoush.

Spurs Web Opinion

One can certainly understand why Mido is enthusiastic about the idea of signing Marmoush as the Frankfurt star seems like a natural fit for Tottenham’s system, given what he offers on and off the ball.

However, a move for the 25-year-old would only make sense if Postecoglou is prioritising a number nine as the Egyptian does not offer as much on the flanks.
