Former Spurs striker casts worrying verdict on Mauricio Pochettino’s future

The future of Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham Hotspur beyond the Champions League final on June 1st is certainly a cause of concern.

The Spurs boss recently revealed that he would be foolish to remain at the club if there isn’t a change in which Daniel Levy currently runs the club (Sky Sports).

While Spurs have not dipped into the transfer market in the past eighteen months, the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City have both spent large amounts of money in improving their playing squad.

Pochettino will discuss his future with his chairman following the match against Liverpool in Madrid with some fearing the worst.

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Mido believes that Pochettino will leave North London following the prestigious European final.

Pochettino has been linked with the vacant managerial hotseat at Juventus in recent days with an intermediary representing the 47-year-old in taking over at the Serie A giants (Tutto Mercato Web).

Mido appeared as a radio show guest on talkSPORT’s Alan Brazil’s Sports Breakfast from 8am this morning and said: “I would be really disappointed if he leaves Tottenham,”

“But I think he will be leaving this summer. Honestly, when I see him in the press conference and what he is saying, I really think he will be leaving.”

Opinion

Pochettino’s departure from Tottenham would have almost catastrophic consequences on the progress we have made over the past five years and would also signal Daniel Levy’s appetite not to make the club a contender for trophies.

The Argentine is up there with Bill Nicholson as the best manager in the club’s history and Levy needs to move heaven and earth to keep in in N17.
