Rewind to last summer and Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Grealish was said to have been on the verge of a £25million move to North London before Villa the club were taken over and the new owners refused to sanction the sale which left the player disappointed that the move failed to materialise (Telegraph).
A year later and Grealish was captaining his boyhood club at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium upon their return to the Premier League.
After Dean Smith’s side took the lead after nine minutes, it looked as if they were possibly going to hold onto a hard fought point until the 85th minute.
Grealish was caught in possession close to his own penalty area by Erik Lamela and the Argentine’s shot deflected into the path of Harry Kane who made no mistake to score his first goal at the new stadium.
Gutted about the result yesterday as I still feel we could have come away with something. On to Saturday! Can’t wait to be back at villa park ?❤️⚽️ #AVFC pic.twitter.com/SfIzx2KeVu

Opinion
Given our previous interest in Grealish, it would have no doubt frustrated him even further to have conceeded the goal.
