Former striker claims he heard from ‘a good source’ that midfielder fell out with Mourinho

Former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor has revealed he has heard that Dele Alli and Jose Mourinho had a falling out prior to the Everton loss.

The midfielder started Tottenham’s Premier League opener against Everton but was withdrawn at half-time, as Mourinho tweaked the system by bringing Moussa Sissoko on.

The Spurs boss admitted after the match that he was not pleased with the ‘lazy pressure’ from his attacking players in the first half (Sky Sports).

Reports emerged on Tuesday that Tottenham are considering selling or loaning Alli to Real Madrid this summer in an effort to bring Gareth Bale back to North London (Telegraph).

As quoted by The Sun, the pundit said: “I feel like they (Spurs) need a No 10 as well because I’m hearing from a good source that Dele Alli and Mourinho have fallen out.”

The former Villa star also claimed that Mourinho could walk if Tottenham do not sign the right players before the transfer window shuts.

Agbonlahor added: “There’s a lot of pressure on Harry Kane. I feel if they don’t get a striker and get off to a bad start, I can see Mourinho walking or getting the sack.

“He is used to spending money. He is not used to begging for a striker.”

Spurs Web Opinion

This rumour might not have any basis in reality but it is concerning that Dele is being linked with a move to Real Madrid. I hope that it is just a coincidence as I believing the England international still has a lot to give us. Even if it is true that he has had a falling out with Mourinho, I do not see him being sold this transfer window.
