Former teammate says current Tottenham star always works ‘without a break’

Guglielmo Vicario’s former teammate, Tommaso Baldanzi, has been praising the Tottenham Hotspur keeper for his work ethic and suggests Vicario is a great support to his colleagues.

When Hugo Lloris started to show a decline in form last season, it became apparent that Tottenham needed to find a new first-choice goalkeeper.

The man chosen to take over was Guglielmo Vicario, who signed for Spurs in a £17.2m deal from Empoli in the summer (Sky Sports).

The Italian has impressed in his first 12 games for the Lilywhites, proving to be an excellent shot-stopper, a confident presence, and most importantly for Ange Postecoglous system, he is adept at playing with the ball at his feet, too.

Behind the scenes, the 27-year-old has been included in Postecoglou’s leadership group, too, which tells us all we need to know about his attitude.

Guglielmo Vicario deserves his success

Now, we have confirmation of just how hard Vicario works and what kind of person he is in the dressing room, thanks to his former teammate.

Tommaso Baldanzi told TuttoMercatoWeb: “Vicario helped me a lot from a mental and work perspective. Guglielmo always worked, without a break. This is fundamental.”

Baldanzi also commented on the “important journey” Vicario is on right now and expressed how “happy and proud” he is to see his former colleague flourishing. He goes on to describe Vicario as “strong and ambitious” and insists he deserves all the success and praise he is getting right now.

Spurs Web Opinion

I’m yet to hear a bad word about Guglielmo Vicario from those who have worked closely with him. Postecoglou obviously trusts him and saw his potential to lead, too, and these comments from Baldanzi align with that perfectly. We know Ange likes people who work hard, and it sounds like Vicario is all about that.
