Ramon Vega and Graham Roberts have had a disagreement on social media regarding Roberto De Zerbi’s impending arrival at Tottenham Hotspur.
Reports now indicate that Tottenham are close to agreeing a deal with De Zerbi to become their next head coach after the departure of Igor Tudor.
According to several sources, Spurs have offered De Zerbi a lucrative five-year contract, which would see him become one of the highest-paid managers in the Premier League.
However, not everyone agrees that it would be prudent of the North London club to turn to the Italian.

Former Tottenham duo disagree on Roberto De Zerbi’s appointment
Ramon Vega, who has been very critical of the Tottenham hierarchy’s decisions of late, believes that the Lilywhites would be making another mistake by turning to De Zerbi.
Reacting to the news of his arrival, Vega wrote on X: “What a waste of money again!”
However, former Spurs captain Graham Roberts disagreed with Vega, talking glowingly of the style of football that the 46-year-old implemented at Brighton.
Roberts responded on X: “Not sure I agree with you on this Ramon. The football Brighton played was better than every team bar maybe Manchester City for that season. He got them into Europe on a much less budget than they spent on the last two years.”
Tim Sherwood says De Zerbi is not the right fit for Spurs
Meanwhile, former Spurs midfielder and interim boss, Tim Sherwood, has claimed that De Zerbi is not what Tottenham need now.
Sherwood said that while he is a fan of the former Brighton man’s personality and his style of play, he was not the “safe pair of hands” that is required during a relegation battle.
Meanwhile, some Tottenham fan groups have campaigned against the appointment of De Zerbi, suggesting that it will reflect badly on the club’s values, given the Italian’s past comments regarding Mason Greenwood.
