Former West Ham midfielder comments on Tottenham player after derby

Tottenham Hotspur picked up all three points this weekend against West Ham, edging the match 1-0 at the Olympic Stadium.

It was an extremely tight affair, but Pochettino’s men took the win, sending them level with Chelsea and just two points behind leaders Man City and Liverpool.

Erik Lamela proved to be the difference in the match, as he flicked home a header after a delightful Moussa Sissoko cross.

However, Tottenham’s man of the match didn’t come from the forward line, but the man between the sticks.

Hugo Lloris had one of his games of the season in the derby, denying forward Arnautovic three times through the 90 minutes.

The first two cam as Lloris tipped over a well-placed header, before getting down low and nudging another shot around the post.

However, the Frenchman saved the best until last, storming off his line bravely to dive at the striker’s feet at the death, denying a certain goal.

Ex-Hammer Nigel Reo-Coker has had his say on the World Cup winning captain.

He told BBC Sport: “Hugo Lloris has been fantastic for Tottenham. He has made three fantastic, world class saves and they owe this win to him today.

“It was a great London derby. Tottenham deserved it. Hugo Lloris immense for them, Erik Lamela was lively and the catalyst on the playing side of things.”
