Four of Spurs’ 2011 CL quarter-finalists react to historic win over Ajax

Tottenham achieved the impossible by coming back from three goals down to overcome Ajax in the Champions League semifinal.

The hosts came into the game as favourites after their win in the first leg, and started off in great fashion, and found themselves two goals up in the game in little over half an hour.

Spurs, however, looked a completely different side in the second half as Ajax’s defenders struggled to cope with the physicality of Fernando Llorente.

Moura scored two quickfire goals early in the half, before netting his hattrick goal in the final minute of stoppage time, thus taking Spurs to the final in Madrid.

The players, coaching staff, fans and some ex-players have all expressed their delight at the historic result. This includes players who represented the club in its last deep foray deep into this competition in 2011 under Harry Redknapp.

The likes of Ledley King, Luka Modric, Jermaine Jenas, and Peter Crouch, who were all part of the team that went out in the quarterfinals against Real Madrid, took to social media to congratulate their former club.
