Four Spurs players who let the team down against Arsenal today

Tottenham Hotspur could only manage a point away to Arsenal today at the Emirates, despite leading the game 2-0 just before half time.

It was a big improvement from last weekend against Newcastle, but Spurs need to find a way to secure some wins or else risk their season drifting away already.

Let’s take a look at the four Spurs stars who left a lot to be desired –

Davinson Sanchez –

Absolutely woeful. Yes, he was out of position, but you would expect Sanchez to still be able to carry out basic defensive tasks. He was done for pace on the outside repeatedly, lost the ball countless times, and failed to stick with his man. He was an absolute liability out there today.

Danny Rose –

While he did some good stuff in the centre of the pitch, Danny Rose was not at it at all defensively today. The left-back didn’t know when to clear the ball and when to play out, often getting it all wrong. The first Arsenal goal came from this exact issue. Perhaps a sensible Ben Davies would have been a better choice today.

Moussa Sissoko –

Sissoko put in a huge shift in midfield and he is unlucky to be mentioned here. However, we have to talk about his end product in the final third. Spurs had a couple of chances to win the game 3-2 at the end, but for a lack of final pass and finish from Sissoko.

Hugo Lloris –

Again, extremely unlucky to find his name here. I though Lloris was top draw as a shot-stopped today, but he got his feet all in a muddle. Not finding a Spurs player, kicking it into touch, almost passing straight out to an Arsenal forward, Hugo did not look confident with the ball at his feet. Having said that, he did pull off some remarkable saves.
