Four Tottenham Hotspur players named in WhoScored Team of the Week

Heung-min Son is one of four Tottenham Hotspur players to make it into the WhoScored team of the week. He is joined by teammates Cristian Romero, James Maddison, and Manor Solomon.

Tottenham were firing on all cylinders this weekend, registering a huge 5-2 win over Premier League newcomers Burnley. The victory at Turf Moor helped Spurs maintain their unbeaten start to the league campaign.

They had to do it the hard way, however, with Burnley taking the lead after just four minutes. The North London club were back in it a little over ten minutes later, though, thanks to a deft finish from captain, Heung-min Son.

The Lilywhites took the lead just before halftime when Cristian Romero rifled a long-range effort home. In the second half, Spurs were ruthless, with James Maddison adding to the lead before Son completed his hat-trick in style.

Meanwhile, Manor Solomon was given his first league start, and ended the game with two assists.

Spurs dominate the team of the week

It goes without saying that it was a good weekend for Spurs, and WhoScored clearly agree.

The outlet praised Romero for a “composed finish,” and noted how he “won all four aerial duels he contested, and made three clearances and two tackles” during the game. They gave the defender a rating of 7.91 out of 10.

Maddison also made the team, and WhoScored described him as “a menace for the Clarets backline” due to his three successful dribbles, and of course, his wonderful goal. The playmaker registered a score of 8.89 out of 10.

It was a “superb outing” for Solomon, too, whose “pair of assists came from five key passes in total to go with three dribbles and two tackles.2 Solomon was given a rating of 8.96 out of 10.

The star of the show, however, is obviously the Tottenham captain, who scored a huge 9.61 out of 10. Son led the line for Spurs and was “on fire” against Burnley, putting his opponents to the sword with three goals from five shots.
