French club ready to move for long-term Tottenham target

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Fulham wide man Ryan Sessegnon for the best part of the summer but a move is yet to materialise (The Sun).

The 19-year-old is thought to be Tottenham’s preferred choice to replace Danny Rose, who could reportedly be sold this transfer window (Daily Mirror).

Reports over recent days have suggested that the Lilywhites were confident of sealing a deal for Sessegnon before the transfer deadline (Daily Mail).

However, now a report in French publication La Provence asserts that Marseille are also interested in signing the teenager this summer.

The report claims that the Ligue 1 club know of the Sessegnon’s intention to leave Fulham and are prepared to offer him a way out.

It is suggested that if Tottenham fail to snap him up before the transfer deadline, the French giants will pursue a deal for the youngster. However, it is claimed that Marseille will not be willing to pay more than €15 million for the left-footer.

This is one of those deals that looks like it will be finalised on deadline day. While Sessegnon has great potential, he is still very much a raw talent. So, if Tottenham do end up signing him, then Spurs fans must be patient and give the teenager time to mature as a player.
