‘Full agreement’ – Fabrizio Romano provides update on Spurs’ pursuit of central defender

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet.

The French international has been heavily linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Sky Sports reporting earlier this week that the north Londoners are in talks with the Catalan giants over a potential loan deal.

Romano has taken to Twitter this evening to suggest that Spurs have agreed on personal terms with the left-sided central defender, who is happy to make the move to the Premier League outfit.

Spurs head coach Antonio Conte is said to have pushed for the arrival of the 27-year-old, with both clubs currently finalising the remaining details of the loan agreement.

Lenglet arrived at the Nou Camp on a five-year deal from Sevilla in the summer of 2018.

Lenglet deserves every chance to prove his worth, however, some sections of the fanbase will feel slightly disappointed having previously been linked with the calibre of the likes of Josko Gvardiol, Pau Torres and Alessandro Bastoni.
