Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have expressed their delight after hearing the news that Troy Parrott has put pen to paper on a new deal with the club.
Tottenham confirmed earlier today that the 18-year-old striker has signed a new deal with the club that runs till 2023.
Parrott boasts of a prolific goal-scoring record at academy level for the club and has impressed in a few cameos he has had with the first team, particularly in last summer’s preseason tour.
He was handed his Premier League debut by Jose Mourinho in December and has also won his first senior cap for the Republic of Ireland in the 3-1 win over New Zealand in November.
Mourinho recently revealed that while he sees Parrott as one for the future, he does not yet believe the teenager is ready yet to play an important part in the first team in the absence of Harry Kane (Football.London).
However, some Spurs fans on social media are hoping that the youngster now gets more games under his belt after signing a new deal with the club.

Spurs Web Opinion
This is fantastic news as Parrott’s willingness to commit his future at the club is an indication that he feels he can eventually break into the first team. The teenager needs to be loaned out next season in order to play more games and continue his development. He is unlikely to get too much game time if he stays at Tottenham next season as I believe Jose Mourinho will want to sign another striker in the summer.
