‘Gain some weight’ – Bryan Gil reveals three things Nuno has asked him to do

One of Tottenham Hotspur’s newest recruits, Bryan Gil has revealed that head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has asked three things from him.

The former Wolves boss has apparently requested that Gil gain some weight, improve his physical condition and work hard for the club.

While the 20-year-old has appeared seven times for Spurs so far this season, the majority of his minutes have come in lesser competitions such as the Europa Conference League and the Carabao Cup.

The Spaniard has only made three cameos in the Premier League, totalling just 50 minutes, although he impressed when he came on in the North London Derby.

Tottenham signed Gil from Sevilla in a player-plus-cash swap deal involving Erik Lamela and £21.6m in the summer transfer window.

While Gil opened up on what has been asked of him by Nuno, he also revealed that the Portuguese coach had a conversation with him even before he joined Tottenham.

On the chat before he was signed, Gil said (Football London): “The conversation we had was something private over the phone so I will keep that to myself but they want to see me give my all and work hard and that’s what I’m going to do.”

On what Nuno has asked of him, he added: “I think you can see. I’ve been requested to gain some weight, improve my physical condition and work hard.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

If Gil is going to play on the left side, he does need to bulk up a little and improve his strength to adapt to the Premier League. This is the same process many go through when they come to the faster and stronger English game. He looks to have lots of promise!
