Jan had a sound game, he was often found covering space for Rose who looked to stay in space to provide a option for a counter-attack once the ball was recovered. Vertonghen was good in the air and didn’t seemed to be overly affected by the rather aggressive Burnley attack.

Tottenham’s title bid suffered a major blow despite a goal from Harry Kane as Burnley condemned them to a 2-1 defeat at Turf Moor.

Not even Kane’s goalscoring return after six weeks out with an ankle injury could inspire Spurs to a victory which would have moved them to within two points of Manchester City and Liverpool at the top.

It was a disappointing display by Mauricio Pochettino’s side with even the most optimistic of Spurs fans now accepting that our title hopes are a thing of the past.
