Bale: I love the club and signs new deal

6

Finally! Some great news out of Tottenham – Gareth Bale has signed a new four-year contract.

The Welsh wing wizard is now contracted at White Hart Lane until 2016 and has been quoted by the official Spurs site below as wanting to fire us back into the Champions League.

It’s absolutely fantastic news that Bale loves the club and wants to stay. To lose both Bale and Modric during the summer would have been an absolute disaster – maybe Modric should take a leaf out of Bale’s book and knuckle down.

Gareth said: “I’ve been here for five years now and I’ve enjoyed every minute. The fans have been great to me and I’d love to re-pay them and do the very best for them. The Club is progressing and I want to be a part of that, so it was great to get the deal done.

“I love the Club and the fans and I want to play my part in trying to get us back into the Champions League – where we belong. We’ve a good, young squad and we need to work together to get back on the biggest stage again.”

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Hmmm… Harry not so powerful after all. Something must be in place to get his signature on the dotted line. Add to that all the transfer rumours that are coming out the woodwork. I think something has been in place for quite some time. The Levy Master Plan!!

  2. An evidently charming and decent lad. I'm so pleased and grateful to him, this is a good signal as to our ambitions, and an example of integrity and loyalty to his peers (even though I would say that as a Spurs fan, its none-the-less true).
