Tottenham Hotspur have started their pre-season with a bang, with Pochettino showing off the strength and depth in his squad against Juventus.

Up against a strong Juve side, a mixture of Tottenham first-teamers and youngsters performed highly and secured an impressive 3-2 win.

However, Pochettino may still want to add some experience and winning mentality to his squad before the new season starts, and a certain Mr Gareth Bale would certainly do that.

Zinedine Zidane revealed this week that Bale was edging closer towards an exit and that he hoped the Welshman would leave the club soon, showing his distaste for the winger (Express).

Now 30-years-old, Gareth Bale left Tottenham for Madrid six years ago back in 2013, and has since gone on to win four Champions League titles with Los Blancos (Wikipedia).

While it is unclear where he may be going this summer and his advisers have apparently refused to comment on links to Spurs, United, and Bayern, they did admit that ‘there could be a surprise this summer.’

How would you react to a Gareth Bale return?

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. With so many positive things happening for Spurs in this transfer window; how could you speculate on such a negative experience happening. The return of Bale to Tottenham would destroy all of the progress made over the past 5 years.
Bale -(if he can stay fit) could possibly make a one year contribution to a team (probably worth about 50K a week). RM have a Bale problem and his wage and contract length make any European attempt to acquire him foolish and wasteful. If Zidane wants him gone; they need to buy him out and let him go. Unless they can convince him to play in China. I suspect that if they do that; Bale will just retire. He seems more enamored with golf in any event.

  2. I guess you did not catch Barnett saying links about him going to Spurs are rubbish. Not to mention the OBVIOUS things like he being 30, injury prone and makes 600 k a week. Seriously anyone who still believe that Bale will come to Spurs after the bullshit links for over a year has mental issues and need to get slapped and think logical!
