Gareth Bale’s agent reveals when move to Spurs could be officially announced

Gareth Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has admitted that the deal to bring Gareth Bale to Tottenham Hotspur could be officially confirmed today.

Bale was seen arriving at Hotspur Way to complete his proposed transfer this afternoon, amidst considerable fanfare.

Reports indicate that the Welshman will sign on a season-long loan deal with Tottenham paying 40 per cent of his salary and Real Madrid covering the rest (Football.London).

It has also been revealed that Spurs have an option to extend Bale’s stay by another year, which could see him run down the two years left on his Real Madrid contract while in North London.

The winger’s frosty relationship with the La Liga champions is well documented, with the 31-year-old reportedly not seeing eye-to-eye with Zinedine Zidane.

Barnett has revealed that Bale does not plan to release a statement saying goodbye to the Spanish giants after finalising his move as he will still technically be a Madrid player.

As quoted by Madridista Real, Barnett said: “Bale is already in London. Perhaps the agreement for his departure will be official tonight. Gareth has no planned letter or statement to say goodbye to Real Madrid.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It is clear that Bale holds a grudge against Real Madrid due to the way he has been treated by the club despite helping them win so many trophies. Hopefully, that means that he will come to Spurs with fire in his belly and a desire to show his former employers what they are missing out on.
