Gareth Bale’s agent sums up rumours of a Spurs return in just one word

Gareth Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has emphatically rubbished rumours that the Welshman could be set to return to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Times reported this morning that was is growing confidence among Spurs officials that they could bring him back to North London before the transfer deadline closes tonight.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane earlier dismissed the speculation by insisting that Bale is still a valued member of his squad (Mirror).

Barnett has now put the final nail in the rumour mill coffin by describing the rumours to the Daily Mail as “cr*p”.

Bale is expected to be named in the Real squad for the Madrid derby this weekend against Atletico.

The Welshman departed North London in 2013 to make the move to Spanish giants what was at the time a world record fee of £85.3million (BBC).

The 30-year-old is under contract at Los Blancos until 2022 and his £500,000 a week wages are said to have caused Spurs an issue.
