Garth Crooks predicts 25-year-old could fire Arsenal to a win over Tottenham

Garth Crooks has backed Martin Odegaard to make the difference in the North London derby after the Arsenal captain returned to form in their win over Wolves on Sunday.

Spurs will have a big say on where the Premier League title ends up this season as Ange Postecoglou’s men will face all three of the title contenders over the coming weeks.

While Tottenham will be focused on their own objective of qualifying for the Champions League, Spurs fans would certainly love for their side to put the final nail in the coffin of Arsenal’s title hopes.

They will have a chance to do just that when the Gunners travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next Sunday.

Tottenham vs Arsenal – North London Derby

While Mikel Arteta’s men have another London derby coming up against Chelsea on Tuesday first, Crooks believes that they will already be looking at the clash against Spurs and backed Odegaard to make the difference.

The former Spurs striker wrote in his column for BBC Sport: “This latest victory (over Wolves) takes Arsenal back to the top of the Premier League, one point above Manchester City – who have a very tricky game in hand against Brighton on Thursday.

“Now the scene is set for the Gunners’ big showdown next Sunday against Spurs. The atmosphere will be febrile as usual but with Odegaard in the side, Arsenal may come out of this encounter with their title hopes still very much intact.”

Spurs Web Opinion

The Spurs fans will understandably be really up for Sunday’s game and the atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be electric. Even though Postecoglou’s men are not in great form, they are a formidable team at home and the Gunners will have to play out of their skins to beat us.
