Gary Lineker sends warning to Harry Kane over his starting spot

Ex-Spurs and England goal-scoring machine, Gary Lineker, has sent a warning to Harry Kane over his starting spot for England.

The Match of the Day presenter claims that Kane has serious competition for his spot with the emergence of Tammy Abraham for Chelsea this season.

With Gareth Southgate very much a man who picks his teams based on current form rather than big names, does Kane have something to be worried about?

So far this season, Kane has ten goals in 15 games for Spurs, with four coming in the Champions League (Transfer Markt). This comes in a Spurs side really struggling for form too.

Kane has also bagged six goals and four assists in four games for England since the start of the season, not to mention being the current England captain (Transfer Markt).

Meanwhile, Abraham has bagged 11 goals and four assists for Chelsea in 18 games this season, with ten of those coming in the Premier League (Transfer Markt).

Spurs Web Opinion:

It’s a real shame that Abraham and Kane are too similar to play up top together. Perhaps Southgate can find a way to drop Kane into a number 10 role, with Sterling and Sancho on the wings and Abraham up front.
