Things have just gone from bad to worse for Tottenham Hotspur as they fell to a 3-0 defeat to Brighton at the Amex Stadium today.
Spurs fans were hoping that they would see a response from the team after the humiliation against Bayern in midweek but Spurs never looked like they were in the game right from kick off.
The home side were full value for their 3-0 win as they looked dangerous every time they came forward. Tottenham, on the other hand, didn’t even threaten Brighton’s goal until Lucas Moura introduction late in the game.
Despite Mauricio Pochettino tweaking the tactics multiple times through the game, the away side never enjoyed a period of sustained control.
Predictably, Spurs have been the target of a lot of mockery on social media on the back of that defeat.
Former Spurs striker Gary Lineker was among the ones who took to social media to crack a joke at the Lilywhites’ expense.
Brighton was always going to be a step up in class for Spurs after Bayern.

Spurs Web Opinion
While it was possible to chalk off the Bayern game as a freak result, there really are no excuses for the players and Pochettino this time around. At least Spurs looked good going forward in the first half an hour on Tuesday. This performance was extremely concerning and seemed to confirm the fact that Pochettino has lost the dressing room.
