Gary Lineker reacts to Tottenham’s deadline day signing

Tottenham were one of the busiest clubs in the country on deadline day as the club completed two new signings in Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon while parting ways with Josh Onomah who moved to Fulham as a part of the Sessegnon deal (BBC).

While Lo Celso’s signing has stolen the limelight, the signing of Sessegnon has flown a little under the radar. The 19-year-old, who can play at full-back as well as further forward, is one of the most highly-rated talents in English football.

Sessegnon failed to live up to expectations last term in what was his first season of Premier League football.

Although he seemed to find his feet towards the end of the season, the teenager couldn’t stop the Cottagers from going down.

Former Spurs striker Gary Lineker has now taken to social media to hail Sessegnon’s signing. Check out what the former England international tweeted below:

While Sessegnon undoubtedly has a lot of potential, he is very much still a raw talent. Tottenham fans thus need to be patient with him and give him time to mature into a top player. Playing alongside the likes of Rose and Davies will certainly help fast forward his development.
