Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to react to the VAR decision which denied Tottenham Hotspur a second goal.
The Match of the Day presenter who played for both Leicester City and Spurs during his career is known to be a Foxes fan.
Spurs were already 1-0 up when Serge Aurier’s effort which would have doubled their lead was chalked off after it was adjudged by VAR that Heung-min Son had been fractionally offside in the build up.
Lineker criticised the impact on what VAR is having following its introduction in the Premier League this season and instead believes that it is starting to suck the life out of football.
The defeat means that Tottenham have now thrown away results in three successive matches having been 2-0 up against both Arsenal and Olympiacos.
It is another frustrating afternoon for Tottenham who have already only managed to pick up eight points from a maximum eighteen available.
Even though it’s worked for @lcfc today, the way VAR is being used is crap. Could and should benefit the game but at present it’s sucking the life out of it.
