Gary Neville makes top four prediction about Man Utd that includes Spurs

Gary Neville has claimed that Manchester United have a ‘great chance’ of finishing in the top four this season, given the issues surrounding the likes of Tottenham over recent weeks.

Man United went up to fifth place in the Premier League table with their 1-0 win over West Ham United on Sunday.

Things are looking up at Old Trafford, with the Red Devils currently sitting a point behind fourth-placed Newcastle and three points behind Tottenham, with a game in hand over both clubs.

Some of United’s rivals for the top-four spot like Tottenham, Chelsea and Liverpool have dropped points over recent weeks, and Neville believes that the door has now opened for Erik Ten Hag’s men to qualify for the Champions League.

The pundit admitted that he did not think a top-four finish was on the cards for his former club earlier this season but remarked that the issues at Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool, have now given them a good shot at doing so.

When asked where Man United could finish this season, Neville told Sky Sports Premier League (30/10/22 – 18:45): “I think they have a great chance of finishing in the top four now. A great chance.

“I think there is enough around Chelsea, Liverpool, and Spurs that United will feel they can push through that bunch. I never would have thought that four or five weeks ago.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It is quite funny that for the criticism that Spurs and Conte have got for playing negative football, and for all the praise that Ten Hag has received, United sit three points below the Lilywhites and have scored nine goals fewer so far this season.

Barring a few games, United have struggled to create many chances going forward but Ten Hag is escaping criticism because of his reputation at Ajax for playing attacking football. I am confident that Spurs will be comfortably finish ahead of United this season.
