Gary Neville makes top four prediction for Spurs, Liverpool and Newcastle

Gary Neville has been discussing the race for the top four on his podcast, and claimed either Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur will be the ones to claim fourth place, with Spurs having the advantage of Antonio Conte’s experience to guide them.

Spurs are currently in fourth place in the Premier League with 45 points from 26 games.

The Lilywhites are four points behind third-placed Manchester United, though the Red Devils have a game in hand.

After Liverpool demolished United in a 7-0 rout yesterday, Jurgen Klopp’s men are now just three points behind Spurs in fifth place, with a game in hand and a better goal difference.

Tottenham fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Wolves on Saturday afternoon, missing the opportunity to close the gap on United and maintain some distance from the chasing pack.

Newcastle United are now sixth, four points behind Spurs but with two games in hand.

It’s safe to say this race for Champions League qualification is one of the most enthralling battles in recent years, and it’s hard to predict who will make the cut.

But for Neville, it can only be Tottenham or Liverpool, and Antonio Conte could be the key.

He said: “Looking at Tottenham they could still finish top four because Conte just has a way of getting over the line.

“They don’t look as happy as a bunch as they were before, but I think it will be Liverpool or Tottenham.

“[The win over Manchester United] will give Liverpool real confidence of getting that fourth place.

“I don’t think Newcastle will do it, I think Tottenham are the only other ones because of Conte’s experience and know-how and he’s been around the block enough times, so he’s the one that’s most dangerous for me.”

Unfortunately, I just can’t see past Liverpool getting top four now.

They are hitting their stride at the right time and you cannot bet against Jurgen Klopp.

We are far too inconsistent and if we continue to drop points against teams we should be beating, we will be lucky to get fifth place.
