Gary Neville has argued that the Tottenham Hotspur job is the best one Antonio Conte can hope for at this stage of his career, insisting that the handful of bigger clubs in Europe will not currently appoint the Italian.
Question marks remain over Conte’s future at Spurs, with the Italian’s current contract running out at the end of the season.
Gianluca Di Marzio revealed last month that Tottenham have offered the 53-year-old a new deal but the former Inter boss does not want to discuss his future until the end of the season.
There have also been some suggestions over the last couple of months that the Spurs head coach wants to move back to Italy to be closer to his family (The Sun’s Martin Lipton – Off The Ball).
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Conte but Neville believes that the Italian is at the right club, given the players that Tottenham have signed in recent transfer windows.
The former Manchester United defender told The Overlap: “Where is Antonio Conte going to go at this moment in time where he hasn’t been before? I think Tottenham can stand strong with the players they’ve signed and the position they’re in.

“I don’t think Conte can go to a better club in Europe. He’s not going to Barcelona, he’s not going to Real Madrid, he’s not going to Bayern Munich, he’s not going to any other club in England, he’s not going to United or Liverpool. I think he’s at the best club he can be at.”

If Conte wants to return to Italy to be closer to his family, that is completely understandable.
However, the challenge of winning another Serie A title with Juve will not be as exciting a project for the Italian as winning a trophy with Spurs and going up against the best managers in the world in the Premier League.
