Gazza reveals why his Spurs return didn’t go to plan

Spurs fans had the privilege of watching Paul Gascoigne don the famous Lilywhite jersey again yesterday as he took the field at the new stadium for Tottenham legends against Inter Milan.

Gazza was one among several former greats to be part of the occasion including the likes of Jürgen Klinsmann, Robbie Keane, and David Ginola.

While Spurs fans didn’t get to see the flair and skill that they are used to from the 51-year-old, it was nevertheless an emotional moment to see him back at N17.

The midfielder came on as a second-half substitute replacing Rafael van der Vaart and played around 20 minutes before going off to a rousing ovation from all ends of the stadium. He later revealed that he was injured.

Tottenham legends ended up on the losing side in the end but the occasion was a truly special one for not just the players involved but also the fans.

Gazza took to Twitter to talk about how it felt to be back at his stomping ground.
