German born Turkish striker on Pochettino’s radar

The Daily Mail say ourselves and Everton have joined long-time suitors Crystal Palace in the hunt for Besiktas forward Cenk Tosun.

The article says that according to Turkish newspaper Haberturk  we have spoken with the highly-rated German-born striker’s
representatives.

The article continues saying Palace scouted Tosun playing in the Champions league for the Group G leaders and that Palaces director of football Dougie Freedman watched Tosun score twice for Turkey against Finland in a recent World Cup qualifier.

The 26-year-old played for Eintracht Frankfurt at youth level and has notched eight goals in all competitions this term – which include three in three games as Besiktas top their group with nine points.

The article continues saying sources understand the Turkish international with 24 caps,is interested in a move to the Premier League.

Borussia Dortmund are also interested which according to the article could spark a bidding war for Tosun.

The article concludes by saying that the player’s agent has claimed a final decision on a possible move to England will lie with Besiktas and whether they want to cash in their star striker before February’s first knockout round of the Champions League – as they look set to qualify from their Group
