Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with a move for former Aston Villa midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger.
Reports in Italy, where Hitzlsperger is playing for Lazio are suggesting that a deal has already been agreed with Spurs.
Hitzlsperger joined Lazio in January from Stuttgart and has failed to make an impression in Serie A. The 27-year-old is only contracted until the end of the season, which means that Harry Redknapp could sign him on a free transfer.
Nicknamed “The Hammer”, he is known for his powerful left-foot and stunning long-distance strikes.
