Tottenham Hotspur have now officially announced the signing of Emerson Royal from Barcelona on deadline day.
It has been a long wait on deadline day for Spurs fans across the world as they patiently refreshed their feeds for news of any incomings.
The Lilywhite faithful have finally been rewarded as the North London club announced the Barcelona right-back this evening.
Fabrizio Romano revealed earlier today that Emerson had already signed his contract with Tottenham after passing a medical. The fee agreed between Barcelona and Tottenham was said to be €25m.
Spurs now have an abundance of right-backs in Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad, including Emerson, Japhet Tanganga, Matt Doherty and Serge Aurier.
Emerson himself gave a strong hint to his upcoming arrival today when he followed Tottenham on Instagram, but Spurs fans will be happy to see official confirmation.

Spurs Web Opinion:
You have to take this signing outside of the context of the whole window. Spurs needed a right-back and Emerson is a great up-and-coming option. Yes, Spurs need a striker and a creative midfielder, but this signing itself is a very good one.
