‘Get him out’ – Some Spurs fans react angrily to yet another missed Eriksen penalty

Tottenham Hotspur went to penalties for the second pre-season match in a row today, following their win over Bayern Munich in Germany last week.

Paulo Gazzaniga was the hero that day, with the likes of Harry Kane, Heung Min Son, Japhet Tanganga, Oliver Skipp, and co slamming home penalties.

However, there has been one consistent zero for Tottenham over the two shootouts, and he goes by the name of Christian Eriksen.

The Dane stepped up to take a spot-kick against Bayern in the Audi Cup final and tamely side-footed it down the middle into the keeper’s hands.

Today, Eriksen stepped up with a point to prove and yet again hit a lazy side footer slightly to the keeper’s right-hand side.

With his future at the club still up in the air with just a year left on his contract, some fans have not taken too well to his back-to-back penalty misfires.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. IF Eriksen actually leaves….then getting Lo Celso in should be “about” the same amount of money. Obviously, Spurs don’t want to pay for Lo Celso and then not be able to sell Eriksen. OTOH, they don’t want to sell Eriksen and then not be able to get Lo Celso. Catch-22.

Is Eriksen pulling a ModRat in recent games?

  2. His attitude is turning the fans against him
And reducing his value to spurs if they are trying to sell him
He is making it difficult for everyone!
Thought he was better than this!
With this mindset he could fit into Utd quite well!
