‘Get him out there’ – Graham Roberts urges Poch to start midfielder against Sheffield United

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Graham Roberts has urged Mauricio Pochettino to start summer signing Giovani Lo Celso against Sheffield United this afternoon.

Lo Celso was handed his first Spurs start by Pochettino on Wednesday against Red Star Belgrade and he put in a terrific performance.

The Argentine troubled the Red Star defence throughout the game and helped the away side create several chances with his quality on the ball. He got on the score sheet and was one of our best players until he came off.

When Pochettino was asked about the possibility of Lo Celso starting on Saturday, he hinted that it was unlikely due to the short time the team has had to recover from their Champions League exertions (Football.London).

However, Graham Roberts called for Lo Celso to be played on Saturday and insisted that he can rest later. Speaking about the midfielder, Roberts wrote on his personal Twitter account, “He can rest next week on international duty get him out there.”

Lo Celso has been called up by Argentina and so would likely be involved in matches during the international break. Given that he has just fully recovered from his injury, I believe Pochettino will be cautious with him. I expect him to start on the bench this afternoon and come on in the second half.
