Some Spurs fans on social media have been left excited after Tottenham’s technical performance director, Steve Hitchen was spotted in Italy amid rumours the club are in talks over a deal for Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar.
Multiple sources from Italy, including transfer experts Fabrizio Romano and Nicolo Schira, have claimed that the North Londoners are looking to complete a deal for Skriniar.
Football.London’s Alasdair Gold revealed yesterday that the Lilywhites had begun negotiations with Inter for the Slovak, with the Serie A giants reportedly demanding more than £50million for his services.
Some Spurs fans might have been understandably sceptical of whether the club would be able to afford Skriniar on the back of the funds they have already spent this summer.
However, Gianluca Di Marzio provided incontrovertible evidence that the Lilywhites were indeed in negotiations for the central defender by sharing a picture of what appears to be Skriniar’s agent, Mithat Halis, with Hitchen.
Di Marzio revealed that Inter and Spurs are around €10m (£9m) apart in their respective valuations of the 25-year-old.
On the back of seeing Hitchens in Italy, some Tottenham fans are now hopeful that it is only a matter of time before Skriniar is a Spurs player.
