“Get people on who know the club” – Graham Roberts unimpressed with Sky

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Graham Roberts took to Twitter yesterday to suggest that Sky Sports had made a mistake of casting Darren Bent as a pundit for the Carabao Cup tie against Stoke City.

Even before the match had kicked off, Roberts was frustrated with the former striker after he incorrectly referred to the club as Tottenham Hotspurs.

Roberts, who lifted the UEFA Cup with the North Londoners in 1981 called for Sky to instead utilise pundits who know the club.

Bent, who is a self-confessed boyhood Arsenal fan (talkSPORT) joined Tottenham for £16.5million in 2007 after Charlton suffered relegation to the Championship.

The England international found regular first team football hard to come by under Harry Redknapp after having to compete with Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe and Dimitar Berbatov.

Thankfully, Tottenham were able to navigate their way into the semi final with Gareth Bale, Ben Davies and Harry Kane all netting against the Championship side.
