Giovani Lo Celso makes promise to Spurs fans after Champions League exit

Giovani Lo Celso has expressed his disappointment after Tottenham Hotspur limped out of the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Jose Mourinho’s injury-hit side travelled to Germany looking to overturn a 1-0 scoreline from the first leg in North London.

Spurs rarely posed a threat to Julian Nagelsmann’s side during the second leg having suffered a 3-0 defeat on the evening.

Lo Celso, who has arguably been Tottenham’s best performer in recent weeks thanked the Spurs faithful for making the trip and promised that the side will work as hard as possible to try and finish in the highest position achievable in the Premier League table.

Tottenham’s hopes of qualifying for a fifth successive Champions League campaign appear to be slim and currently trail fourth place Chelsea by seven points heading into this weekend’s matches.

Spurs are scheduled to face Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday while Chelsea make the trip to Aston Villa on Saturday evening.
